Grhyme 24

  • Gloucester Guildhall 23 Eastgate Street Gloucester United Kingdom (map)

The evening will begin with “Fire In The Youth”. Four young aspiring and inspiring Gloucester writers take to the stage to showcase work they have written and share with us in a Q&A where they draw their inspiration from and where they hope to go. Featuring Liv Whitehead, Zach Brown, Travon Santana Powell and Karlina Anderson-Carr

“Greetings” a spoken word piece commissioned especially for the event written (and soon to be performed) by Mr Milise. The piece has been inspired by the changing ways members of the Black community have greeted one another over decades past.

“Box Clever” another commissioned piece based on the subject of County Lines, the grooming of young people and the repercussions this lifestyle brings. Involving four local lyricists, Griz-O, Dread MC, Travon Santana Powell and Zach Brown, the piece will be performed with the use of a short film and illustrated characters.

The evening will end with the community in attendance enjoying some fine Caribbean cuisine.
